Some Saturday Nuggets.

Image from here. It's been my motto for the past couple days.

• The most commonly asked questions for me on Formspring are about photography and makeup. I think it is funny since I don't often post about either. I've decided to dedicate next week to all things beauty. Will be using some unanswered questions in Formspring as inspirations for posts. (If you have any questions, you can ask me, anonymously or not, over there.)

• My son, who has been walking for months, FINALLY decided to make it his primary mode of transportation. I love the Frankenstein stance. Pictures to come! It's too cute not to share.

• I needed a new headshot for *something* very exciting. I'll post all about it in a couple months. (I hate when bloggers do that, too. So sorry for the teaser, but I wanted to share my excitement.)

• I actually sorta-kinda like the headshot my husband took of me in our front yard. That NEVER happens.

• Why, yes. That is grass. Our snow is almost melted. It's about time.

• I needed to vent yesterday. The good ol' journal came to the rescue. I'd forgotten how cathartic writing your feelings out on paper can be.
The journal regained it's prominent location on my nightstand; we are going to be spending a lot more time together.

• I've been thinking a lot about words. How they can cut someone down or raise someone up. I've decided that there is no room for sarcasm or mean people in my life. I've also decided that I need to be aware of my own use of words. I only want to say things that are uplifting and loving.

• I've also decided that chatting online can really stink. Too easy to be misinterpreted.

• Sorry for the bit of silence on this blog of mine. The mini-break was unintentional. Life got in the way. And honestly, I just didn't feel like blogging. I've been a little down in the dumps over a silly, little thing. I'm not sure why I let it affect me so.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend. Next week will be fun.

  2. Oh Hannah, I LOVE that inspirational saying. I must repeat it to myself! I know exactly how you feel. I've been having a VERY rough time at work and I've been letting it affect me pesonally. It's so hard not to "mirror" what you receive. This works with both good and bad behavior.

Whatever/Whoever's been bringing you down...I'm sure is not half as wonderful as you are.

Gorgeous new head shot, you look fantastic! I'm sure it will be perfect for "whatever" you need it for! ;)

And remember, turn that frown upside down!

  4. I've noticed a few bloggers go quiet when they are feeling down. It's kind of nice to know it's not just me.

I hope next week will be better for you!

  5. Excited for more beauty tips from you!
And I agree- sarcasm is a base firm of humor that can hurt so often. Thanks for the reminder on choosing kind words. I've already told you that I love that picture, and I can't wait for details on your new project!

  7. I'm a fairly new follower. I am so glad to see you back....was afraid it was something I said! You went quiet right after I joined! :)
Seriously, it's nice to have you pop back up on my 'blogs I follow" list.
Great picture. I think we as women can all appreciate the 'kinda sorta' like pictures of ourselves.
    Be blessed~

  8. That sign is brilliant. In fact I think I might make one for my brother for his birthday this week.

How exciting to *need* a headshot. It's beautiful, by the way - you look fab!

And as a naturally sarcastic type who decided a few years ago that I didn't want to be (that was hard to untrain and is still a work in progress) that uplifting words make quite a difference.

  9. Love the photo and love that quote!

I think online chat is as easily misinterpreted as email. Perhaps we should go back to the good ol' telephone call.

Can't wait to hear your news!

  12. Ok I DO hate when bloggers do that too. Although I have never noticed that you have done it so you are allowed ;) Once or twice! I need to just stop blogging when I am not feeling it. I have a hard time not putting something up but when I do it's so empty. I just need to learn to let myself not post.

  14. Who could be mean to you? Only the jealous and insecure.

  15. Holy cow I love that sign! And your headshot is beautiful.

  16. I so agree that online chatting, emailing and even blogging can be easily misinterpreted. So easy to do with only words to make a point, and no facial expressions and body gestures. I worry about that a lot, because its so easy to offend or have someone read what your write differently than how you wrote what you write {make sense?}. It really is a tough thing.

And also, I love the new headshot and I'm excited to hear what you needed it for.

  18. So that quote made me smile because it reminded me of Kung Fu Panda, "There is no charge for awesomeness... or attractiveness"

Hope you start feeling better. Sorry I am not there to take you out to Red Mango! But just think, soon you will be in the happiest place on earth -- well, maybe second to Hawaii!
